WHAT IS BIOGRAPHY
a biography is a type of text that describe the life-story of a popular (well-known) figure that could give insipiration, and motivation to those who read the biography and it is written by someone else. A biography text is not limited to those who are very popular only, it can anyone as long as there is an achievement to apraise in the text.


THE PURPOSE OF BIOGRAPHY
(1) to understand a person’s story of life outside of any accomplishments this person may be known for.(2) to enable many information and educate the readers.

GENERIC STRUCTURE OF BIOGRAPHY
There three generic structure of biography, they are (1) Orientation, (2) Event, (3) Re-orientation.


LANGUAGE FEATURE OF BIOGRAPHY

Use simple past tense
Example : He was born on August 17, in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Use time sequence
Example : His parents were divorced when he was three years old.

Focus on specific participant
Example : Abraham Lincoln was born in 1809 in Kentucky (USA). He worked on the farm of his father.

Use action verb
Example : He did different types of jobs before he settled as a highly successful lawyer.


THE WORKSHEETS
This workseet is designed to guide students to write their first biography by pointing the important part of someone's life and story to be the content of their writing. However, it still required teacher assistance during the teaching and learning process.

INSTRUCTION MANUAL
The worksheet should be given along with the instruction to avoid confuses. Moreover, the worksheet required students mobilization to the area where the source are possible to access, such as library, a room with internet connection, a reliable source of the information, etc.

The role of the students are (1) The investigator that aimed to find the information, (2) as the writing that could integrate all the provided information into one complete biography text.
